   This is the kind of CD that needs to be listened to many times in order to be appreciated in full. "Demons and Wizards" is ultimately neither Blind Guardian nor Iced Earth, but is instead a new mixture resulting in an interesting and intriguing creation. If you plan on purchasing this CD be prepared in mind to hear something unusual/5().

   Demons & Wizards is the self-titled debut album of the power metal supergroup Demons & Wizards (a side-project of Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian and Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth), released in February The album was recorded with the help of Jim Morris, who plays lead guitar on almost all tracks, and by Mark Prator on drums.

   Now Demons & Wizards self titled debut is a very straightforward album. Demons & Wizards is the Iced Earth album Something Wicked This Way Comes with Hansi Kürsch on vocals instead of Iced Earth’s beloved Matt Barlow. This is one hell of an album. Rites of Passage a short chanting + power chord section leads into Heaven Denies, a short.

   The original goal of the band was to forge the different musical styles of both Iced Earth's dark melodies and Blind Guardian's powerful vocals into one sound. In fact, according to the musicians, the band name is meant to describe the two styles: the self-proclaimed demon-like themes and sounds of Iced Earth and wizard-like themes and sounds of Blind Guardian (The monicker "Demons & Wizards.

   Originally released throughout Europe in , this Blind Guardian / Iced Earth side project made it to American record stores a year later. Considering the lineage of Demons & Wizards, this Steamhammer/SPV offering is an automatic must-own for fans of latter-day European power metal.
